The Friends’ School is the largest Quaker School in the world and the only Quaker School in Australia. The Friends’ school cares for the academic, cultural, physical, social, emotional, and spiritual development of each student in their care.
What makes The Friends’ School unique?
Friends’ is the only school in Tasmania that offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) for years 11 and 12. The two-year course follows a curriculum that is challenging and well-organised. It is recognised by universities in over 138 countries (including all Australian tertiary institutions).
The Friends’ School has a consistent history of achieving strong academic results in all three of the pathways offered in years 11 and 12: the Tasmanian Certificate of Education (TCE), the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) and Vocational Education and Training (VET). Friends’ is the only school in Tasmania that offers the IBDP in years 11 and 12.
Accommodation
The Friends’ School offers accommodation for students at their on-campus residence, Walker House, for local and international students from years 7 to 12. Walker House is managed by a professional team of staff committed to providing a warm, supportive, and inclusive environment for boarding students.
