International Education Awards
Study Tasmania International Education Awards 2025
Study Tasmania International Education Awards is a significant recognition for international students, staff, homestay hosts and industry partners that have contributed to the Tasmanian international education sector. All finalists will be invited to the Study Tasmania end of year event in Hobart, where winners will be presented their awards.
There will be four categories of awards presented:
- International Student of the Year
- International Student Alumni of the Year
- International Student Support Award
- International Student employer of the Year
Applicants are advised that submitting multiple nominations does not enhance the likelihood of success. Emphasis should be placed on the quality, completeness, and credibility of a single, well-prepared nomination.
The eligibility for nomination and criteria for shortlisting are as follow:
Student of the Year
This award recognises international students who provide exceptional peer support, actively engage with the Tasmanian community, demonstrate outstanding academic achievements, and act as role models for other international students in the state.
Students can be studying in any sector – school, university, or vocational education. Only students who are studying on Subclass 500 visas can be nominated.
Self-nominations are accepted.
Alumni of the Year
This award recognises the career and personal achievements of a former international student who has graduated from an international education provider in Tasmania.
The alumni should live and be employed in Tasmania and will be recognised for their continuing efforts to contribute to the wellbeing of the international student community.
Self-nominations are accepted.
Student Support Award
This award recognises staff, international student advisors, homestay hosts, student or community groups that have shown outstanding support for the international student community through their programs, initiatives and support activities.
Self-nominations are accepted.
Student Employer of the Year
This award recognises employers who not only provide meaningful employment opportunities for international students, but also actively foster their inclusion within a diverse and dynamic workforce. We particularly welcome nominations of organisations that demonstrate a commitment to integrating international students alongside their domestic workforce through structured programs, mentoring, and long-term career development initiatives.
Businesses should be nominated by a current or former international student employee.
