Ayubowan - ආයුබෝවන් (Sinhalese; translates to may you live longer - ආයුශ බොහෝ වේවා - a phrase Sri Lankans use to welcome, and something you'll hear if you ever fly with Sri Lankan Airlines!)

I'm Levanya, and as you might have guessed from the introduction, I'm from Sri Lanka! I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Business majoring in Business Economics and Finance at UTAS.

I love dancing and exploring new places with my friends! What I love about Tasmania are the scenic hidden treasures that are yet to be discovered and the many opportunities it has provided me with over the past two years! The people here are what makes this already beautiful island, a welcoming and homely place to be (it’s almost as if being nice is a prerequisite to enter Tassie!) – and it makes being away from home a bit easier.

Believe me or not – I’ve been able to do things that I never thought I would get a chance to do when I first came here, such as continue dancing and showcasing our culture, continue performing at concerts, getting to organise events and the opportunity to undertake an internship in one of the biggest government organisations in Tassie!

Tasmania has given me so much and I’m hoping that this program will allow me to give at least some of it back to this wonderful community.
